Patent Portfolio Filed
Seven patent applications have been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), covering core innovations in rare disease AI diagnosis, insurance appeal generation, privacy architecture, diagnostic odyssey detection, and platform infrastructure. All applications are pending USPTO examination.
Areas of Innovation
The UniteRare patent portfolio covers innovations across several areas of the platform:
- Multi-pathway rare disease diagnosis assistance — novel consensus methods for combining independent diagnostic reasoning pathways applied to rare disease phenotype data
- AI-assisted insurance appeal generation — methods for generating clinically accurate, evidence-based insurance appeal documents from structured patient and treatment data
- Privacy-preserving rare disease analytics — architectures for generating population-level insights from rare disease data while preserving individual privacy
- Rare disease resource navigation — methods for matching patients to relevant clinical trials, support programs, and specialist resources using multi-signal ranking
Patent Status
All seven applications are pending USPTO examination. All innovations are protected as trade secrets until patent publication. The filing of each application establishes its priority date.
Licensing & Collaboration
UniteRare's intellectual property is developed in support of our mission to improve rare disease navigation for patients. We are open to licensing discussions that further this mission, particularly with patient advocacy organizations, academic medical centers, and rare disease research institutions.

Open Source
UniteRare does not currently open-source core platform components. We are evaluating open-sourcing specific utility libraries and data tools that may benefit the broader rare disease research community.
