New Clinical Trial: Ready to Sail 2: A Pilot Study of Sail-Assisted Telerehabilitation in Rare Skeletal Diseases (NCT07102875)
WHY IT MATTERS
This trial offers young patients with rare skeletal disorders access to an innovative rehabilitation model combining in-person sailing therapy with remote maintenance care, potentially improving outcomes beyond traditional therapy alone.
Researchers are testing a new way to help young people with rare bone diseases get better. The program combines sailing therapy (being out on the water) with online rehabilitation exercises that patients can do at home. This study builds on earlier successful results and will compare two different treatment approaches to see which works best.
NCT ID: NCT07102875 Status: ACTIVE_NOT_RECRUITING Conditions: Rare Bone Disorders Phase: NA Enrollment: 24 Sponsor: Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli Summary: "Ready to Sail 2 - EXTEND" is a pilot randomized interventional trial designed to assess the feasibility, safety, and preliminary impact of an innovative rehabilitation model combining sailing therapy (velatherapy) with a remote telerehabilitation maintenance program in young individuals with rare skeletal disorders. Building on the promising results of the previous Ready to Sail feasibility study (NCT06397443), this study aims to validate and compare two rehabilitative approaches. A total of 2
